The successful candidate will be capable of critically analyzing and accurately summarizing a wide range of preclinical and clinical cardiovascular data, evaluating programs for scientific merit and competitive advantage, managing preclinical and early clinical development programs, as well as interacting with Chinese and western pharmaceutical partners.
The position requires a Ph.D., M.D. or Pharm.D. degree with at least seven years of industry experience in a cardiovascular therapeutic discipline, as well as in depth knowledge of the R & D landscape, including development and ideally regulatory requirements in this area.
The candidate must be within commuting distance to HUYA's San Diego, CA headquarters. The candidate must possess excellent written/verbal English communication skills, fluency in Mandarin Chinese, and the ability to function in a fast-paced and highly team-oriented environment. The position is full-time, exempt status, with compensation package to be determined depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Reporting to a matrix organization, responsibilities include:
* Accurately evaluating and summarizing cardiovascular drug research and development information (e.g. compound characterization, in vitro/in vivo models, preclinical and clinical data)
* Evaluate completeness of data packages and conduct gap analyses of data to support development planning and US IND filing requirements
* Be familiar with validated and non-validated pharmacologic targets in the cardiovascular area, competitive drugs on market and under development
* Predict the competitive fit of technology against drugs on the market and under development within the target therapeutic area
* Assist in clinical trial design by review of clinical development precedence with related technologies
* Perform document translation
* Prepare reports and presentations for internal and partner use
* Serve as internal champion for promising technology
* Serve as technical expert for current and potential partners
