Mireille Gingras, PhD
President and Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Gingras founded HUYA in 2004 and has grown this privately-held company to become the global leader in accelerating the co-development of novel biopharmaceutical product opportunities originating in China. Dr. Gingras was the first to establish extensive collaborations with Chinese academic and commercial biopharmaceutical organizations to speed the development and value creation in worldwide markets for China-sourced novel biopharmaceutical compounds. Dr. Gingras has 18 years experience in the biotechnology industry that includes drug development, pre-clinical research design, and experience in establishing academic partnering programs. She has also made significant contributions to the study of complex addictive diseases as well as in the research and development of neuroactive steroids and neurological and neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Gingras completed post-doctoral fellowships at Bordeaux University and Scripps Research Institute and holds a Ph.D. from Radboud University Nijmegen.
Bob Giargiari, MBA
Executive VP and Chief Financial Officer
Bob Giargiari has worked with entrepreneurial life science companies for nearly 20 years and possesses a breadth of experience in finance, operations, corporate development, and communications. Prior to joining HUYA, Mr. Giargiari was VP of corporate and commercial development for Ambit Bioscience, where he was responsible for creating, managing, and growing Ambit's successful commercial kinase screening division. Prior to Ambit, Mr. Giargiari led the West Coast Life Sciences Practice for Fleishman-Hillard, an international communications firm into which he merged his successful independent consulting practice. Mr. Giargiari has held senior positions at Ancile Pharmaceuticals, Molecular Biosciences and Sequana Therapeutics in San Diego, and at Georgeson and Company in New York. Mr. Giargiari holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and economics from Harvard University and an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA.
Ming Zhao, MD, MPH, MBA
Director, China Business Development
Dr. Zhao has more than 15 years experience in the field of healthcare, including clinical trials, public health, pharmaceutical market research & consulting, and business development in both the US and China. Before joining HUYA, Dr. Zhao was a medical director with Gammastar Medical Group in China. Prior to Gammastar, Dr. Zhao relocated from the US to China to establish, develop, and manage the advanced analytics business as the department head for IMS Health, the world's largest pharmaceutical market research and consulting firm. Dr. Zhao has held various research and management positions at prestigious organizations including Johns Hopkins Medical Institute, the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and the Shanghai Medical University. Dr. Zhao graduated from Shanghai Medical University with a medical degree, and earned a Master of Public Health degree from University of South Carolina and an MBA from the University of Baltimore.
Ran Zhang, MD, MBA
Director, Beijing Office
Dr. Zhang has extensive experience at R&D, regulatory affairs, clinical trial and business development fields including leading cross-functional teams, planning and executing marketing strategies, and launching new product lines to marketplace. His previous experience includes senior positions at Sino-American Huajin Pharmaceutical Company, Medical University of South Carolina, and State FDA's National Institute for the Control of Pharmaceutical and Biological Products, Beijing, China. Dr. Zhang received his MBA from the Morre School of Business, USC, his MS degree in Infectious Diseases and his MD degree from the Tongji Medical School, Huazhong University of Science & Technology, China.
Wei Ren, MD, MBA
Director, Shenzhen and Guangzhou Offices
Dr. Ren is the director of HUYA's Shenzhen office where he is responsible for business development in South China. He has 15 years of in-depth experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, both in China and the U.S. Dr. Ren was most recently at Guangzhou Wanglaoji Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. as President of the Prescription Drug Department. His pharmaceutical experience includes positions held with Schering-Plough Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., Daiichi Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., and the China office of Roche Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. where he was the Sales & Product Manager. Dr. Ren earned his MD from Wuhan Tongji Medical University and his MBA in finance from Brandeis University in Boston.
